Child Safety Standards

Unscripted is a dating service for adults, operated by Unscripted Technology LLC (9233 SE Harney Court, Portland, OR 97266). This page publishes our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), how anyone can report it to us, what we do when we find it, and who to contact. It applies to every part of the Unscripted service on every platform.

§1. Unscripted Is an Adults-Only Service

Unscripted is available only to people aged 18 and older. Every account must supply a date of birth at registration, and the minimum-age check runs on our servers — not only in the app — so it cannot be bypassed by modifying the client. An account that cannot satisfy the 18+ check is never created. We do not offer a minors' tier, a teen mode, or any reduced-age experience.

If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we remove it. You do not need proof to tell us — a report is enough for us to look, and "underage" is one of the reasons you can select in the in-app report flow.

§2. What We Prohibit

The following are banned outright, whether they appear in a profile, a photo, a prompt answer, a display name, or a private message:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct involving a minor, including material that has been altered, animated, or generated.
• Sexualization of minors — sexual or suggestive commentary about a minor, or presenting a minor in a sexualized manner.
• Grooming — building a relationship with a minor in order to sexually exploit them, including attempts that begin here and move to another platform.
• Sextortion — threatening to publish someone's intimate imagery to coerce sexual content, money, or contact, at any age, and treated as a child-safety matter whenever a minor is involved.
• Trafficking and solicitation — advertising, recruiting, or arranging the sexual exploitation of a minor.
• Attempting to contact a minor for sexual purposes, including seeking, offering, or trading CSAM.

§3. How to Report

Anyone can report child-safety concerns to us, whether or not they have an Unscripted account:

• In the app — every profile and every chat carries a Report action, and Settings → Safety & Reporting collects them in one place. Choose Underage or Inappropriate content and add any detail you can. Reports are confidential: the person you report is never told who reported them.
• Without an account — the Report Content form in the app does not require you to sign in, so you can report imagery you appear in even if you are not a member.
• By email — abuse@unscripteddating.app for child-safety and general safety concerns, or takedown@unscripteddating.app for intimate imagery published without the consent of the person depicted.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact law enforcement first. In the United States, call 911, and you can report directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678. Tell us afterwards so we can remove the content and preserve what we hold; we will follow up once the child is safe.

§4. How We Detect It

We do not rely on reports alone.

• Automated content screening. Profile photos and message text are screened automatically before they reach anyone else, using a classifier that includes a dedicated sexual-content-involving-minors category. Content that trips it is blocked rather than published.
• Known-CSAM hash matching. Member photos are served through Cloudflare, and we have Cloudflare's CSAM Scanning Tool enabled on our domain. It compares images against hash sets of known child sexual abuse material maintained by NCMEC and other child-protection organizations, blocks matches, and notifies us directly.
• Human review. Every report reaches a person. During launch, reports are reviewed by the founder personally.

§5. What We Do When We Find It

We act on child-safety reports as our highest priority. Our standing commitment is to review every report daily, and child-safety reports are triaged ahead of everything else in the queue.

When we confirm CSAE, all of the following happen:

• The content is removed from the service.
• The account is permanently banned and its data is queued for deletion.
• The device is blocked, so reinstalling the app and registering again from the same device is rejected.
• Every match the account held is severed, cutting off any conversation in progress.
• We file a report with NCMEC (see §6).

We cooperate with law enforcement and with NCMEC, and we preserve the records associated with a report as required by law and for as long as an investigation may need them.

§6. Reporting to NCMEC

Unscripted Technology LLC is a registered electronic service provider with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), and our CyberTipline reporting is live. When we obtain actual knowledge of apparent child sexual abuse material on Unscripted, we report it to the NCMEC CyberTipline as required by 18 U.S.C. §2258A. Our internal service level is to file within 24 hours of becoming aware of the material.

Reports include the material, the account information we hold, and the technical details NCMEC asks providers to supply so that a report can be routed to the right law-enforcement agency.

§7. How This Relates to Our Other Safety Commitments

We publish more than one response time because they cover different obligations, not because they compete:

• Daily — we review every incoming report, of any kind, every day.
• 24 hours — we file confirmed CSAM with NCMEC within a day of becoming aware of it (18 U.S.C. §2258A).
• 48 hours — we remove non-consensual intimate imagery within two days of a valid request, the deadline set by the TAKE IT DOWN Act, 15 U.S.C. §6851 et seq. See the Terms of Service §A.

Where a single incident falls under more than one of these, the shortest deadline governs.
