Unscripted is a "no algorithm" dating service operated by Unscripted Technology LLC. These Guidelines are the rules for everything you put on Unscripted — your photos, your profile, your prompt answers, your display name, and your messages. They are part of our Terms of Service, which you accept when you create an account, and they apply to every member everywhere.
When we hide something you posted, reject a photo, or restrict an account, this is the document we are pointing at. We have tried to write it so that you can tell, before you post, which side of a line you are on.
§1. Be a Real Person, Being Yourself
Use your own photos and your own name. Do not impersonate anyone else, real or invented, and do not use photos taken from someone else's profile, from social media, or from stock libraries. Do not run an account on behalf of a business, a brand, or a promotion.
Automation is not welcome here: no bots, no scripted messaging, no scraping profiles, and no bulk-created accounts. We look for automated behavior and act on it.
§2. You Must Be 18 or Older
Unscripted is an adults-only service. You must be at least 18 to create an account, and we check your date of birth on our servers when you register.
Child sexual abuse and exploitation are absolutely prohibited — including child sexual abuse material, sexualized depictions of minors, grooming, sextortion, and trafficking. Accounts are removed permanently and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
Our full standards, detection methods, and reporting path are published at Child Safety Standards.
§3. Treat People Decently
Harassment is not allowed. That covers repeated unwanted contact, insults and name-calling, sexual harassment, degrading someone's appearance or body, and pressuring someone who has clearly disengaged. "No" is a complete answer, and someone who stops replying has given you one.
Rejection is part of dating. Responding to it with abuse is what turns it into a violation.
§4. No Hate Speech
Do not attack, dehumanize, mock, or call for the exclusion of people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, immigration status, religion, disability, disease status, age, sex, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation. Slurs aimed at any of these groups are not allowed, and neither is hate symbolism.
Stating your own dating preferences is fine. Expressing them as contempt for a group of people is not.
§5. Keep Content Non-Explicit
Unscripted is not an adult-content platform. Do not post nudity, sexually explicit imagery, or graphic sexual descriptions in profiles, photos, or prompt answers, and do not open a conversation with explicit sexual content. Do not send unsolicited sexual imagery in chat — ever, at any point in a conversation.
Photos are automatically screened before they go live, so explicit uploads are usually rejected at the moment you submit them rather than later.
§6. No Threats, Violence, or Coercion
Do not threaten anyone with violence, glorify or promote violence, or encourage others to harm someone. This includes threats made as a joke.
Sextortion — threatening to share someone's intimate images to force them into sending content, money, or contact — is treated as one of the most serious violations on the service and results in permanent removal.
§7. No Intimate Imagery of Someone Who Did Not Consent
Never share intimate images of another person without their consent, whatever the source. If intimate imagery of you has been shared on Unscripted without your consent, use the Report Content form in the app — it does not require an account — or email takedown@unscripteddating.app. We remove qualifying material within 48 hours of a valid request under the TAKE IT DOWN Act, 15 U.S.C. §6851 et seq.
§8. No Spam, Scams, or Solicitation
Do not use Unscripted to advertise, recruit, promote a business, drive traffic to another site, or sell anything — including your own content on other platforms. Do not send the same message in bulk.
Romance scams are the pattern we see most often, and we remove accounts for them: asking matches for money, gift cards, or cryptocurrency; "investment opportunities"; sudden emergencies that need funds; and pushing a new match off the app within the first few messages so the conversation cannot be reviewed. Unscripted will never ask you for money or financial details, and no genuine match will either. Read Safer Dating for the full list of warning signs.
§9. Nothing Illegal
Do not use Unscripted for commercial sexual services, drug sales, weapons sales, human trafficking, fraud, or any other criminal activity, and do not use it to arrange one.
§10. Self-Harm
Do not encourage suicide or self-harm, and do not share instructions or graphic depictions of it. If you are struggling, you are not in trouble with us — reach out to someone who can help. In the United States, you can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, 24 hours a day.
§11. What Happens If You Break a Rule
We match the response to the severity, the pattern, and the harm done. Depending on what happened, we may:
- Hide or reject the specific content and tell you why.
- Send you a warning.
- Limit your reach for a period, so your profile is not shown to new people.
- Suspend your account temporarily.
- Remove your existing matches, ending those conversations.
- Ban your account permanently.
- Permanently ban the account, block the device, and delete the account's data — this is reserved for the most serious violations, including anything involving a minor.
Repeated reports against an account from different people can trigger an automatic restriction while we review, so that harm stops before a human gets to the queue rather than after.
You can appeal. If your account is restricted, the app shows you what happened and lets you submit an appeal for a human to review. We may decline to reinstate accounts removed for child safety, sextortion, or non-consensual intimate imagery.
§12. How to Report a Problem
Every profile and every chat has a Report action, and Settings → Safety & Reporting collects the safety tools in one place. Reports are confidential — the person you report is never told who reported them. You can also block someone at any time, which cuts off contact silently and immediately.
We review every report daily and act on any violation we find. For urgent safety concerns, email abuse@unscripteddating.app. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number first — we will follow up once you are safe.
