How does Unscripted work?
Unscripted shows you profiles of people who match your preferences (age range, distance — anywhere in the US by default, relationship intentions). Unlike other dating apps, we don't use an algorithm to hide or prioritize profiles—you see everyone who matches your filters, in random order.
How do I create an account?
Download the Unscripted app from the App Store or Google Play (coming soon on both), then follow the prompts to create your account with your email, set up your profile with photos and bio, and set your preferences. You must be 18 or older to use Unscripted.
How do I match with someone?
Browse profiles in the People tab. Swipe right (or tap the heart) to like someone. If they like you back, it's a match! You'll both be notified and can start messaging.
Can I change my profile or preferences?
Yes! Your photos, bio, and prompts are edited from the Profile tab (tap the edit icon). Your age range, distance, and other discovery filters live under Settings → Who you’ll see. Both can be changed at any time.
Why am I not seeing any profiles?
This could be because no one matches your current filters, or you've already seen everyone available. Try widening your age range, distance, or lifestyle filters — the app will show you which filter change unlocks the most new people.
How do I unmatch with someone?
Open the conversation with the match you want to remove, tap the menu icon (three dots), and select "Unmatch". This ends the match and hides the conversation for both of you; the other person is not notified.
How do I report inappropriate behavior?
If you encounter inappropriate content or behavior, you can report a user by viewing their profile or conversation, tapping the menu icon, and selecting "Report". Choose the reason for your report and submit. Reports are reviewed daily.
How do I block someone?
To block a user, view their profile or conversation, tap the menu icon, and select "Block". Blocked users cannot see your profile or contact you, and they are not notified. You can unblock anyone at any time in Settings → Blocked Users.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings > Delete Account. If you can't get into the app, you can also request deletion from the web at unscripteddating.app/delete-account — we'll email you a link to confirm. Either way, your account is deactivated straight away and there's a 30-day grace period: log back in within 30 days and everything is restored. After that your profile, photos, messages, and personal data are permanently removed and cannot be recovered. Some data may be retained for legal or security purposes as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
Is Unscripted free?
Yes! Unscripted is free to download, and all core features (browsing, matching, messaging) are available at no cost. The app is supported by ads; optional one-time purchases remove ads and unlock extra profile prompts.
How does Unscripted protect my privacy?
We take privacy seriously. Your exact location is never shared—other users only see an approximate distance. We don't sell your data, and we use industry-standard encryption to protect your information. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.
What if I'm having technical issues?
If you're experiencing crashes, login issues, or other technical problems, please email us at support@unscripteddating.app with details about the issue and your device type/version.
